Butia Capitata is an outstanding feather palm tree which is hardy to -10°C when mature. Large Butia have a stout trunk topped by a thick crown of large, graceful, downward-curving leaves, each leaf measuring 2m or more in length. The strongly curving leaves are a blue-green colour making this an essential palm for the exotic garden. The fruit of this palm can be used to make jelly hence its common name Jelly Palm.
