Trithrinax campestris are wonderful palms which grow very large and are perfect for the UK. They are hardy to -15C and are unaffected by strong wind or frosts. The leaves are very stiff and a gorgeous blue/grey colour. The trunks become very thick, spikey and sharp and require no winter protection except in colder areas, looking equally good in summer or winter. Trithrinax campestris will thrive in almost any soil except continuously soggy conditions and often form multi-trunks. Full sun or partial shade is best although they are also amazingly drought tolerant as well.
Rarely available as younger plants but should be available from spring 2011.
