Astelia Silver Spear Plant

Astelia 'Silver Spear' are hardy clump-forming perennials with attractive, silvery spear shaped leaves that grow well in pots or borders. They produce long stalks of yellowish-green flowers and the females grow orange berries. The silver foliage contrasts wonderfully with any darker coloured plant such as purple Phormium. They grow best in semi-shade or full-sun and can grow to 120cm x 130cm. Individual leaves can be as long as 2m though. Astelia are are great alternative to Phormium, looking good all year round, requiring only simple fleece protection in the harshest of winters. SOLD OUT
