Bay Tree Ball Tree

Laurus nobilis or Bay Trees have lovely aromatic evergreen leaves that are often used in cooking. They are excellent foliage plants and respond very well to hard pruning to maintain an attractive ball shaped head. Bay trees are reliably hardy, though can be slightly tender when young, so they are best planted in a sheltered part of the garden. If you live somewhere that experiences harsh winters, then growing in a pot and bringing near or into the house may be a good option. They are suitable for any soil types and are best grown in full-sun to part-shade. Bay trees produce greenish-yellow scented flowers and are perfect for containers.
