Alocasia maccrohizos is an amazingly architectural plant that has large elephant ear shaped leaves. This Alocasia taro will tolerate a few degrees of frost but it is usually better to bring into a frost-free conservatory or greenhouse for the winter. They can grow up to 2m tall and the large shield-shaped leaves are often 60cm across held on dramactically upright stems . Grows best in part-shade and water well during the growing seasons. Alocasia macrorrhizos contrasts well with the darker Colocasia.
