Yucca elephantipes Plant

Yucca elephantipes or Spineless Yucca grow at a moderate pace and are perfectly suited for growing indoors and are also suitable to grow in a container or border outside.They can grow up to 20 feet or even taller in ideal conditions but this takes many years. The leaves can grow up to 4 feet long and the trunks are thickened at the base. Yucca elephantipes can be planted outside in very well drained soil but if you do this, some of the leaves may get slightly frost damaged and turn white. If you provide fleece in winter the leaves usually remain unscathed. Once the plant is approx 8-10 feet tall, flowers are produced on 2-3 feet stalks. Plant in full-sun or part-shade in well drained soil or containers.
